Airborne particles, water vapour, microbes, and chemical gases enter compressors. After compression has taken place these contaminants become concentrated and more destructive. Alternative Filter Elements
The range of alternative elements are comprehensive and include products that are guaranteed to be as good or better than the OEM parts. Omega manufacture white labelled components for several companies and apply their first class manufacturing processes to the manufacture of alternatives of the other OEM’s products. These processes involve seam welding instead of spot welding, individually stitched rather than tacked, consistently monitored glue temperatures, on site filter media pleating and production, laser etching etc.

Compressed Air Dryers
Whether you are located in the tropics or in a desert, atmospheric air will contain water vapour. As the air or gas cools, it will eventually reach a point where it can no longer hold the water as vapour so it will start to condense into liquid water. This temperature limit is called the dew point and it acts as a measure for how much compressed air drying is needed. Dry air is important. In almost every process, clean and dry compressed air will result in lower operating costs. When water is present in the air, it can cause damage to the internals of pipework and components causing pressure drops and ultimately early failure resulting in performance reduction and increased maintenance costs.
Omega has a broad range of dryer options including membrane, desiccant adsorption, hybrid, refrigeration, heat and vacuum regeneration technology and high pressure solutions.
Nitrogen and Oxygen Generators
Nitrogen and Oxygen generators extract the available nitrogen/oxygen in the ambient air from the other gases by applying Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) technology.
The PSA process pushes compressed and cleaned ambient air into a molecular sieve bed, which allows the oxygen or nitrogen to pass through as a product gas, but adsorbs other gases. The sieve releases the adsorbed gases to the atmosphere when the outlet valve is closed and the bed pressure returns to ambient level. Subsequently the bed is purged with oxygen before fresh compressed air enters for a new production cycle. To enable a constant product flow, the generators use modules of two molecular sieve beds, which alternatively switch between the adsorption and the regeneration phase. Under normal operating conditions and with correct maintenance the molecular sieve beds have an almost indefinite lifetime.
The range includes oxygen generators with a capacity between 1 and 95 Nm3/hr at up to 95% purity and nitrogen generators with a capacity between 3 and 442.5 Nm3/hr at up to 99.999% purity.
